Interferometric Direction Finding Based on Time-Modulated Array

چکیده :
One of the well-established methods to find the direction of arrival of the received signals is the time-modulated array (TMA) of antennas. This method is at the center of attention due to its simplicity of implementation and resistance to noise. To use this method for wide-band cases, the ambiguity issues must be solved. In this paper, a three-antennas structure is proposed to deal with this issue with the added advantage of allowing the shorter base-line to be selected many times larger than half of the wavelength of the maximum frequency which greatly helps in practical applications. Moreover, since an analytical solution is proposed, this method can be adapted to different applications with various frequency bands and a mathematical relation between the baselines and the frequency band is derived. Numerical results show that the proposed method is robust with respect to implementation imperfections.
