A Privacy-Aware Scheduling Algorithm for Demand Response in Smart Grids Using Hybrid Cloud Computing

چکیده :
Smart grids must balance energy efficiency with strong data privacy, especially when using cloud-based systems for demand response. In this paper, PHEGAS, a privacy-aware greedy scheduling algorithm is proposed that optimizes energy distribution while protecting user data. The algorithm uses a hybrid cloud architecture, where sensitive information is handled in a private cloud and heavy computations are offloaded to a public cloud. Tasks are prioritized by criticality, energy use, and real-time cost, allowing dynamic scheduling and cost reduction. A fallback mechanism ensures continuous operation when public cloud resources are limited. Privacy is preserved through anonymization and AES-256 encryption. Simulation results showed that PHEGAS reduced energy consumption, minimized cost, and maintained privacy, demonstrating its effectiveness and scalability for modern smart grids.
