Identifying Singular 2-D Systems Using 1-D Methods

چکیده :
In this manuscript, we introduce a novel 1-D identification approach for singular 2-D systems, as well as 2-D systems. The existing 1-D equivalent, known as the Wave Advanced Model (WAM), is associated with a significant computational drawback. This disadvantage arises from WAM's use of rectangular system matrices, which prevents the application of well-established 1-D techniques applicable to regular form square matrices. Additionally, WAM being a structure varying model poses challenges in defining an input-output difference equation, further complicating the identification problem. To address these complexities, we propose a solution that enables the definition of a 1-D input-output difference equation for the Singular WAM (SWAM). Consequently, we can leverage 1-D methods to solve the 2-D system identification problem more effectively. To demonstrate the computational benefits of our approach, we include a numerical example for illustration purposes.
