Ultra-Compact and Fast All-Optical Half-Subtractor Photonic Crystal Logic Gate

چکیده :
Half-subtractor logic gates are used for logic calculations in logic processors. This paper proposes an ultra-compact and ultra-fast structure for the all-optical Half-subtractor logic gate. The Plane Wave Expansion method is used to design the structure and the Finite-Difference Time-Domain method is used to numerically analyze the proposed structure. The footprint structure is about 42 μm2 and the maximum time delay is about 60 femtoseconds. The contrast ratio for the proposed all-optical Half-subtractor structure is 18.4 dB for port D and 6.3 dB for port B.
