Design of a Broadband and Wide Incident Angle Metasurface Absorber Using Polygon-Ring Resonators

چکیده :
This paper presents an ultrathin and broadband plasmonic metasurface absorber based on periodic polygon-ring resonators. The proposed design achieves substantial absorption enhancement over a wide spectral range extending from the visible to the infrared. A maximum enhancement factor of 24.1 is obtained, and absorption remains above 90 percent throughout the 400–1007 nm wavelength interval. The metasurface further attains an average absorption of approximately 97 percent, with a peak value approaching 99 percent, while maintaining robust performance under oblique incidence for both transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) polarizations. In addition, an efficient fabrication strategy for plasmonic absorbers is introduced, broadening the potential for applications such as solar energy harvesting. The low cost and structural simplicity of the proposed absorber underscore its suitability for practical deployment.
