چکیده :
The structure and operation principles of linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) are similar to those of rotary switched reluctance motor (SRM). The segmental translator linear switched reluctance motor (STLSRM) is a type of LSRMs that can produce higher thrust force/weight ratio than conventional LSRM. In this paper, a new type of STLSRM is introduced, whose performance characteristics are improved by embedding the permanent magnet (PM) in its structure. Because the existence of PM has a significant effect on the air-gap flux density, it is important to choose a suitable location for the PM in the motor structure. Based on this, with the aim of choosing the right location to place the PM in the motor structure, four different structures of the segmental translator permanent magnet linear switched reluctance motor (STPMLSRM) are investigated. In order to validate the introduced structure, based on the 3-D finite element method (FEM), a comparison is made between the STLSRM and the STPMLSRM, and the static and dynamic characteristics of two motors are predicted and compared. These comparisons show that embedding the PM in a suitable position in the motor structure improves the performance of the motor.
