چکیده :
Imaging of buried utilities using non-destructive methods has received much attention in recent decades. Among these techniques, microwave imaging methods have a special place due to their high accuracy, suitable penetration depth and ability to detect metallic and non-metallic targets. In recent years, various algorithms have been introduced for the clutter reduction in back-scattered fields. Also, multi-frequency and multi-polarization data are considered to improve imaging results for the deeper targets. In this paper, at first, the antenna required for the imaging system is manufactured based on bow tie antenna technology. Also, an appropriate amplifier is exploited for data acquirement. In the next step, for a laboratory measurement using a network analyzer, a testbed of moving soil box with five metal and non-metal targets is designed and fabricated. Proposed imaging system is implemented for 40mW transmission power, providing penetration depth up to 0.5m and range resolution less than 3cm. A clutter reduction algorithm is introduced based on the combination of different frequency bands for target subspace of the B-scan matrix. The obtained images show that the proposed sub-band-subspace method significantly improves the background clutter reduction at the IDFT-based range detection algorithm.
