Highly Sensitive PCF-Based SPR Sensor for Cancer Cells Detection and Temperature Sensing

چکیده :
A highly sensitive photonic crystal fiber (PCF)-based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor is numerically proposed for cancer cells detection and temperature sensing. The sensor employs a dual solid-core PCF structure integrated with a gold layer to enhance resonance coupling. For biomedical sensing, refractive indices in the range of 1.35-1.39, corresponding to healthy and cancerous cells, are investigated. Numerical results indicate that the proposed sensor can achieve a maximum wavelength sensitivity as high as 12000 nm/RIU, with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 80 nm, resulting in a figure of merit (FoM) of 150 RIU-1 and a resolution of 8.3×10-6 RIU. For temperature sensing, ethanol is considered as the analyte, and the temperature response is analyzed over a range of -20 °C to 60 °C. A maximum temperature sensitivity of -3 (nm/°C) with an FWHM of 140 nm, an Absolute FoM of 0.014, and a resolution of 0.05 °C are achieved. The results indicate that the proposed sensor is suitable for biomedical, thermal and refractive index (RI) sensing applications.
