A Novel method for power transmission lines Protection Against the Sub-Synchronous Resonance Using thyristor-based reactive power compensation

چکیده :
Abstract__Todays, compensation and voltage control in power transmission lines are among the fundamental challenges faced by power industry operators and managers. Therefore, efforts are made to achieve maximum power transfer conditions from transmission lines by implementing series compensation while controlling voltage and reactive power. In this regard, the use of series capacitors for economic reasons to simultaneously control voltage and reactive power in transmission lines is very common and conventional. The use of series capacitors increases the maximum transferable power and also improves stability and voltage profile of the lines. However, one of the disadvantages of using series capacitors in lines is the occurrence of subsynchronous resonance (SSR) in the network. Therefore, the proposed method in this article aims to adopt a solution by designing an optimal controller for series capacitors with thyristor control (TCSC) to control voltage and transfer power while minimizing the occurrence of subsynchronous resonance as much as possible.
