A Wideband White and Colored Noise Generator as an Environmental Communication Systems Controller

چکیده :
We developed a novel white and colored noise generation chain with four incorporated blocks. The blocks are Noise Generator, Filter Array, Frequency Converter, and Frequency Synthesizer. Each of the blocks contains innovations and is independent in analysis, design, and test. In this scheme, the Noise Generator block produces an output noise with a uniform power density level and maximum randomness by a PN junction base noise. A filter array extracts the colored noise from the output of the Noise Generator block. It contains fifteen linear filtering paths. Subsequently, a novel Frequency Conversion block along with a Frequency Synthesizer converts the colored noise center frequency to every desirable frequency in the output working band. Frequency Synthesizer block provides one of the local oscillators of the Frequency Conversion block. Eventually, a system with a 3 GHz white noise and fifteen different colored noises is presented. The center frequency of the colored noises is adjustable in every frequency range from 1 GHz to 5 GHz. They have 10, 30, 50, 70, 100, 200, 300, …, 1000 MHz bandwidths. Their stopband rejection and frequency transition band are lower than -35 dB and 18 MHz, respectively.
