Accurate state of charge estimation for lithium-ion batteries for stationary energy storage applications using low-cost measureent sensors

چکیده :
Estimating the state of charge (SoC) of lithium-ion batteries is one of the most important and fundamental functions in battery management systems (BMS) in various applications, especially in microgrid applications. Because the performance of other functions in the BMS system depends on having accurate information about the SoC. This article addresses the problem of measurement errors, caused by low-cost sensors, in SoC estimation. In this regard, this article presents a special estimator that, in addition to estimating the SoC and terminal voltage, also has the ability to estimate measurement error. In order to increase the accuracy of the SoC estimation, this article uses a nonlinear model extracted from the second-order electrical model. After a complete mathematical analysis of the stability of the proposed estimator, its performance has been investigated by simulation as well as experimental testing in the laboratory. The obtained results confirmed the high accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method in the SoC estimation.
