Modeling of Photo-thermoelectric Current Effects in Phase Change Material based Optical Nano Dipole Antenna Energy Transducer

چکیده :
Chalcogenide materials like Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) are crucial in devices that quickly switch between amorphous and crystalline phases. These devices operate at high temperatures due to electrical currents, and understanding the precise high temperature properties of GST is essential. In this study, we use computational analysis via finite element method to examine the thermoelectric effects on a nanoantenna based on phase change materials when excited by a laser Gaussian beam in the near infrared domain (1.55 μm). The interaction of the laser beam and GST generates current densities and thermal gradients, resulting in electric potential and an electric field. Overall, our findings show that thermoelectric effects significantly influence voltage and energy harvesting, depending on factors such as operational dynamics, temperatures, thermal gradients, current density, phase transition states.
