A Novel Approach to Cheating Prevention in Demand Side Management Algorithms

چکیده :
As smart grid technology advances, Demand Side Management (DSM) techniques have evolved, leading to automated algorithms that usually model consumer competition using game theory. An important feature in designing DSM algorithms is how these algorithms can cope with dishonest consumers. Some consumers announce incorrect information about their actual electricity consumption in DSM process in order to increase their profit or reduce their electricity billing. Some DSM algorithms are not resistant to this behavior of dishonest consumers which may discourage honest consumers from cooperating with the DSM algorithms. This paper tackles this important issue and presents a robust billing mechanism that combines actual consumption costs with penalties for discrepancies in reported load profiles, incentivizing truthful reporting.
