A Novel Multi-Variable Search Space Method for Selective Harmonic Control-PWM in Active Power Filters

چکیده :
This paper proposes an enhanced optimization approach for selective harmonic control-pulse width modulation (SHC-PWM) applicable to three-level grid-connected inverters. Unlike traditional methods focusing solely on modulation index regulation, we propose a novel three-dimensional optimization scheme that simultaneously controls the modulation index, the amplitude, and the phase angle of the fifth harmonic component. The proposed approach uses a hybrid Genetic Algorithm-Sequential Quadratic Programming (GA-SQP) optimization technique with an improved objective function containing three control variables. This optimization framework introduces a new objective function designed specifically for the application of active harmonic filtering under nonlinear loads. The simulation results are given for a three-level converter to validate the proposed method.
