Cost- and Emission-Optimized Energy Management in Microgrids Integrating Renewables, Storage, and Electric Vehicle

چکیده :
Microgrids, as modern architectures in electric distribution systems, are expected to play a pivotal role in the future of electric networks by providing enhanced controllability and operational flexibility over distributed energy resources. The integration of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, with energy storage systems including microgrid batteries and the storage capacity of electric vehicles and controllable generation units enables reliable and sustainable power supply, even during disturbances or islanded operation. This study proposes a novel energy management approach that optimally coordinates generation units and storage systems to maintain supply stability, shift load from peak to off-peak hours, and minimize reliance on pollutant-emitting units. By employing a combined cost–emission objective function, the proposed method effectively balances economic and environmental objectives, resulting in reduced operational costs, lower emissions, and enhanced operational flexibility. The findings demonstrate the potential of intelligent storage integration and optimized control strategies for improving the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of future microgrids.
