MIMO Directional Antenna for WLAN, LTE, and 5G Modem Applications

چکیده :
A directional printed antenna incorporating Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology has been designed, simulated, and fabricated to support wireless communication standards within the 1.7–3.8 GHz frequency range, covering LTE and 5G bands. The antenna consists of four identical monopoles, each positioned 90 degrees apart on an FR-4 substrate, with a reflector plate facilitating directional radiation. The overall dimensions of the designed antenna are 130 × 130 × 30 mm. Simulation results obtained using CST include the reflection coefficient, gain, and radiation patterns. A fabricated prototype was measured, demonstrating an S₁₁ of less than −10 dB across the target frequency range and achieving a peak gain of 10 dBi. Furthermore, the antenna exhibited a low envelope correlation coefficient (ECC < 0.012) and high diversity gain (DG > 9.9 dB) across its operational bandwidth.
