چکیده :
Voltage stability and its dynamic performance are critical factors in the reliable operation of power distribution systems. This paper investigates the improvement of voltage dynamics through locating and determining the optimal capacity of capacitors in distribution networks. By optimizing the location and value of capacitors, we aim to reduce voltage fluctuations, improve the voltage profile, and minimize and limit the voltage undershoot. Using the modified 33-bus IEEE distribution system as a case study, simulation is done in a MATLAB/Simulink environment. Also, we use from genetic algorithm (GA) for determining the optimal placement of capacitors that it consider voltage regulation and voltage profile. The results show the improvement of voltage profiles throughout the distribution network, and increase of voltage stability.
