Model Predictive Control for Interconnected Systems with Communication Delays

چکیده :
The current study presents a Model Predictive Control (MPC) methodology specifically designed for Interconnected Systems (ISs) with communication delays and imposed disturbances. The interactions and communication delays among the subsystems often pose significant challenge which lead to control problems and affect the overall performance of the ISs. To address this issue, in this work the dynamic equations of an Interconnected Time Delay System (ITDS) are reformulated to effectively control interaction delays. This reformulation helps to derive the state space representation of an ITDS. The MPC method is then designed based on the overall state space description of the system with additive bounded disturbance and applied to the ITDS. The achievement of this research helps to promote the control techniques of ISs, particularly in scenarios where the communication delays and imposed disturbances are prevalent. The illustration results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method to handle communication delays and imposed disturbances in ISs.
