High Power Quality, Gated-EMI Design of Lighting Flyback Driver using Configurable Current Source

چکیده :
This paper presents the design and implementation of a high performance, isolated flyback LED driver tailored for indoor lighting applications. To address the critical challenges of electromagnetic compatibility, the proposed system incorporates a robust Electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering stage designed to effectively attenuate both Common Mode (CM) and Differential Mode (DM) noise components. A key feature of this design is the utilization of a Howland Current Source (HCS) topology, which ensures precise constant current regulation independent of load variations and input fluctuations. Experimental validation of a 90-265V input and 32-46V/1A output prototype demonstrates superior power quality, achieving a Power Factor (PF) of 0.95 and a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 8.5%. Furthermore, the driver fully complies with IEC/EN 55015 and IEC/EN 61000-3-2 standards, confirming its effectiveness in minimizing grid pollution while maintaining reliable optical output.
