Design and Modelling of a Modified Controller for D-STATCOM Considering Parametric Uncertainties and Unmodeled Dynamics

چکیده :
Abstract—This paper presents the design and modelling of a modified controller for two-level three-leg VSC-based distribution-STATCOM with an LC output filter using the sliding mode method. The design of the controller takes into serious consideration the effect of parametric uncertainties, unmodeled dynamics, and load current turbulences to control the compensating current. Ignoring these variable parameters leads to a decrease in the ability and performance of the system and occasional transience in fault situations. The proposed D-STATCOM equations transform from abc to dq0 rotating reference reducing the effects of parametric uncertainties and miss modeled dynamics by applying the modified sliding mode method. Furthermore, the state-space modulation scheme and LC output filter induce output voltage THD improvement. Finally, system simulation is accomplished Using MATLAB/Simulink to corroborate the mentioned statements. Simulation results before and after using D-STATCOM are represented to demonstrate the compensation influence.
