چکیده :
This paper presents a novel control scheme for a hybrid energy storage system (HESS) that integrates batteries and supercapacitors (SCs) to enhance energy management in electric vehicles (EVs). The proposed control method combines proportional-integral (PI) control with second-order sliding mode control (SOSMC), thereby improving robustness against load variations and addressing issues related to chattering and slow response times. Simulation results obtained from MATLAB-Simulink demonstrate that the hybrid PI-SOSMC controller significantly outperforms conventional PI controllers in both transient and steady-state conditions. These findings highlight the potential of the proposed control strategy to enhance the efficiency and longevity of hybrid energy storage systems in EV applications
