چکیده :
The primary objective of this paper is to comprehensively review recent methodologies and algorithms proposed for measuring the dimensions of cube-shaped objects. These approaches typically employ either active methods or a combination of active and passive techniques. Active methods, while generally more accurate, often incur higher costs. To enhance the accuracy of active methods, it is common to utilize more images or imaging equipment with superior quality. Addressing the challenges highlighted in this paper, we introduce a passive method employing four cameras. An algorithm based on local and global features of the object, specifically a cube, is proposed for matching feature points and estimating its dimensions. The implementation of this method involves the design of an imaging box and the output results are derived from the captured images. Notably, this approach not only measures the dimensions of the object but also allows for the estimation of its 3D shape with minimal point clouds. In our proposed method, a significant advantage is observed in terms of both speed and cost reduction, while maintaining an acceptable level of accuracy (approximately 0.9 mm), when compared to other methods discussed in this paper.
