A brief review of methods for improving the performance of virtual synchronous generators under unbalnced conditions

چکیده :
In recent decades, due to the increasing use of distributed generation resources via power electronic devices which lack sufficient inertia, the entire network inertia decreases and this results in worsening the stability condition. Hence, the concept of virtual synchronous generators has been widely welcomed as a solution to mimic the performance of real synchronous generators providing inertia. Inertial injection can reduce sudden frequency changes and increase network stability. However, conventional virtual synchronous generators perform poorly under unbalanced conditions. In other words, they hold no effective algorithm for imbalance compensation. This paper reviews the strategies for improving the performance of virtual synchronous generators under unbalanced conditions.
