Direct model reference adaptive control for depth of hypnosis in anesthesia

چکیده :
Controlling the depth of anesthesia is a complex and crucial process in medical practice. The procedure for keeping track of the depth of general anesthesia and administering it during surgery is often described as a closed-loop control. However, there is ongoing research into the development of commercially accessible autonomous systems for controlling the depth of general anesthesia, to determine their dependability, effectiveness, safety, and utility for adoption in the clinical environment. This work presents an unnormalized direct model reference adaptive control for drug infusion, with the propofol input. This controller is used to regulate the propofol dose infusion during anesthesia. The validation of the new procedure is shown via simulations and via some evaluation indexes that are clinically accepted.
