Evaluation of Different Connectivity Methods for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Diagnosis

چکیده :
obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health neuropsychiatric disorder causing significant repetitive behaviors and a variety of anxieties that can seriously affect a person's personal and social functions. In this article, we are going to discuss various connectivity methods and choose the best method to find a potential biomarker for diagnosing OCD disorder. Electroencephalography (EEG) signals were recorded from 19 channels based on 10-20 systems from 90 subjects during eyes-closed (EC) and eyes-open (EO) at Atiyeh clinical neuroscience center. Four connectivity methods were employed to examine the brain functional connectivity (FC) in a resting state. The phase-locking value (PLV) of healthy subjects and OCD patients demonstrates the obvious changes in the Beta2 sub-band of the EEG signals. Moreover, a significant connection demonstrates between channels on the central and the right hemisphere of the brain. These results can show the potential of this approach for providing valuable biomarkers in the mental health field for classifying OCD disorder.
