چکیده :
The issue of power consumption poses a significant challenge for the practical implementation of ultra-wide bandwidths (BW) at higher frequencies such as millimeter-wave (mm-wave) or terahertz (THz). To meet these demands, analog signal processing (ASP) methods have recently garnered considerable interest. The power consumption required for high-precision and ultra-high-speed digital-to-analog (DAC) and analog-to-digital converters (ADC) with ultra-wide BWs highlights practical difficulties that emphasize digital signal processing (DSP) limitations. This paper aims to present initial power consumption approximations for ADC-less systems to provide insights into their current performance and guide future advancements. For instance, our suggested technique in direct analog demodulation for NR-STAR-MQAM constellation demonstrates an equivalent error performance to digital methods with over 26× power conservation. Additionally, we introduce two approaches to derive the phase and amplitude of the transmitted signal from the obtained in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) components.
