5.65 GHz Rectenna for Dedicated Wireless Power Transfer to IoT Devices with Reduced Interference in the WLAN Band

چکیده :
This article presents a compact 5.65 GHz rectenna for dedicated RF energy harvesting within the 5.15–5.85 GHz WLAN band, deliberately avoiding congested 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and sub-GHz cellular bands to eliminate interference. The rectenna comprises a 50 × 45 mm² slot-monopole antenna (measured gain 2.8 dBi, omnidirectional azimuth pattern) and a rectifier with voltage doubler capability using HSMS-2850 Schottky diodes. A tapered T-shaped impedance matching network ensures optimum power transfer. Fabricated on low-cost FR4, the rectenna achieves a peak measured RF-to-DC efficiency of 35.5 % at 6 dBm input power and 0.7 kΩ load (simulated 37.2 % at 10 dBm). Excellent agreement between HFSS/ADS simulations and measurements validates the design, offering a practical interference-free wireless powering solution for IoT devices.
