چکیده :
Power distribution networks (PDNs) in mountainous regions are highly vulnerable to blizzards, which can cause widespread outages. This paper proposes an optimal reconfiguration strategy for the post-blizzard restoration of PDNs. A mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model is developed to maximize the restoration of supply to healthy sections of the network by isolating damaged zones through strategic switching operations. The model strictly adheres to radiality constraints and operational limits while efficiently modeling fault occurrence and propagation with low computational complexity. Owing to its efficient linear formulation, the proposed method incurs a lower computational burden than existing approaches, making it suitable for real-world, long feeders exceeding 200 km in length. The method is simulated on the 20 kV Baznavid feeder in Aligudarz, Iran, using MATLAB. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategy significantly enhances grid resilience by determining the optimal post-blizzard network configuration, leading to a more effective and rapid restoration of supply.
