چکیده :
Insulations under high electrical stress are at the risk of electrical breakdown. Usually, before occurrence of a breakdown the Partial Discharge (PD) activities start. By getting these PD signals from either one or two side of long cables used in feeding system of the devices, we are able to localize the source of PD signals. There are different methods for PD localization in the literature. The two most feasible methods for this purpose are the Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) and Arrival Time Analysis (ATA). These methods benefit from the difference between the arrival times of PD signals to the ends of the power line. Usually in power networks there are several sources for PD signals and also there are many sources of high frequency noises. So distinguishing between signals received and identifying the incident and reflected PD signals is hard or even impossible. In this paper, we introduce a new PD localization method using Phase Resolved Partial Discharge (PRPD) patterns which obviously differ for various types of PD sources. Therefore, localization of PD sources could be done in noisy environment of power network.
