چکیده :
CAN bus is a robust communication protocol widely used in modern automotive and industrial systems for its efficiency in reducing wiring complexity and ensuring reliable data exchange. In this paper, we report the design and implementation of an embedded real-time monitoring and fault-detection system based on CAN bus communication protocol for a battery management system. This system includes the driver and CAN bus transceiver integrated into a 32-bit ARM microcontroller board, CAN to Serial converter and a python-based graphical user interface software. The system converts many parameters such as battery cell voltage, current, temperature and several internal flags which demonstrate warnings or faults into CAN bus frames and transmits them to the PC with an adjustable data rate from 125 kbps to 1 Mbps, where those parameters are displayed in real time and stored as a time log.
