چکیده :
The Partial Discharge (PD) test stands out as a widely employed technique to assess the condition of a generator's insulation system. However, despite its widespread application, the interpretation of results from this method encounters numerous challenges. Consequently, there is a critical need to delve into and comprehend the process of PD pulse propagation within the stator winding. Based on the type of PD in the generator, the characteristics of the generated pulse will differ. In this study, the effect of the characteristics of the occurred PD pulse on its propagation in the stator winding has been investigated. A complete model of a stator winding has been implemented using the finite element method. Through the application of various PD pulses to the implemented model, the study aims to delineate the precise susceptibility of pulse propagation to the diverse attributes associated with the occurring PDs.
