Robust H∞ Control Design for Variable-Speed Wind Turbines Using Bilinear Matrix Inequalities

چکیده :
— This paper presents a robust H∞ control strategy for variable-speed, pitch-regulated wind turbines addressing the challenges posed by nonlinear dynamics and fluctuating wind conditions. The objective is to integrate significant amounts of wind power and actively participate in primary frequency control. Using a bilinear matrix inequality framework, the control problem is formulated as an optimization task, enabling the design of robust controllers that enhance system stability and efficiency. The H∞ approach minimizes the effects of disturbances, making it ideal for wind turbines dynamic environments. Simulation and results demonstrate the controller's ability to improve robustness, aerodynamic stability, and operational performance compared to conventional methods. This work advances control system design for wind turbines, contributing to their efficiency and reliability while supporting renewable energy adoption.
