A New Data Delivery Approach for Blockchain based on NDN

چکیده :
Blockchain is considered to be a disruptive technology that can revolutionize many existing technologies. However, it still has not been matured and needs improvements especially in scalability and network overhead. In particular, IP-based blockchain networks often suffer from excessive overhead and repetitiveness. There has been some research to overcome these deficiencies by using a new networking paradigm, namely, the Information-Centric Networking (ICN), which brings content closer to users by having a content cache feature within the network. In this paper, we propose a new data delivery approach to be used in the network layer of a blockchain based on Named Data Networking (NDN) that is the most widely used ICN network. In our approach, we select the best nodes (core nodes) to connect miners to the network and empower them with more cache and computing power. In addition, we propose a new transaction and block transmission method according to the topology of the network which best utilizes NDN caching and delivery. Comparison with the related works indicates the superiority of our approach over existing approaches.
