چکیده :
This paper describes the application of multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) in the design of ultra-wideband equiangular spiral antennas for microwave imaging systems. The main goal of this design is to achieve enhanced time-domain pulse preservation in both main planes of the antenna. For the feeding structure, a microstrip to stripline balun is vertically connected to the arms of the spiral antenna from the back. Dimensions of the spiral antenna and its balun are both involved in optimization. The optimization results show that the fidelity factor higher than 0.98 in XY and higher than 0.8 in YZ-Planes is achieved, and the return loss is better than -10 dB at 3.1-10.6 GHz frequency band. Also, simulation results prove the capability of the proposed antenna in tumor detection.
