چکیده :
This paper presents a dual-polarized broadband folded cross-dipole base station antenna. The antenna consists of four folded dipoles that are printed two by two on each side of a low cost substrate. Each pair of the folded dipoles are fed by a coaxial cable in a manner that one arm is connected to the core of the coaxial cable, while the other arm is soldered to the outer side of an SMA, namely ground by a small strip or vice versa. Four parasitic elements are also placed at the ends of each folded dipole to control the impedance matching quality of the antenna and to enhance the purity of radiation characteristics, especially at the upper end frequencies of operating band. A λ/4 solid reflector is also positioned at the back of the antenna to have a unidirectional radiation pattern. Measured -10 dB impedance bandwidth shows a range of 1.41-3.26 GHz (79.2%, 1.85 GHz) and S_21 < -31.7 dB. At the conference, details of the design steps, modal analysis, measured radiation results, and a 1 × 8 elements array antenna will be introduced.
