چکیده :
In this paper, an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) graphene-based grating absorber is designed for Terahertz (THz) applications. In the design of its unit cell, a patterned and a continuous graphene sheets separated by a quartz (SiO2) dielectric are used. Each step of the design approach is numerically analyzed with the help of a commercial EM-solver. The calculated absorptivity in the result of normally incident plane-waves reveals an absorption bandwidth 194% with absorptivity more than 80% from 0.1 to 7THz. The unit cell's dimensions of this polarization-insensitive grating are found to be λ0/300, where λ0 is free space wavelength at 0.1THz. It is shown that the proposed absorber has an excellent performance for both TE- and TM-polarized obliquely incident plane-waves once the incidence angle < 80o. By changing the chemical potentials of graphene sheets, this absorber provides a good flexibility in its frequency behavior.
