Fano resonance in MIM Plasmonic Waveguide Coupled with a Rectangular Cavity

چکیده :
Recent studies have shown that plasmonic Fano resonances are garnering significant attention because of their pronounced asymmetric characteristics, heightened sensitivity to surrounding materials, and minimal radiation damping. In this investigation, we propose a design featuring rectangular resonators in conjunction with a metal-insulator-metal waveguide. The structure was simulated numerically through the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) approach, and the findings demonstrate that the resonance wavelength exhibits a linear dependence on the refractive index of the material being analysed. The impact of varying the coupling distance on transmission and electromagnetic field distribution was calculated and analysed in detail. The sensor exhibits a sensitivity of up to 1094 nm/RIU in Near I.R. spectral region.
