چکیده :
The growing expansion of renewable energy sources presents challenges in unit commitment (UC) problem for modern power systems. The main challenge posed by renewable energy sources is their low inertia, which results in an inadequate frequency response in the event of disturbances, potentially threatening the system's frequency stability. In this paper presents a clustered unit commitment (CUC) model for a daily horizon, taking into account frequency stability constraints. The model incorporates both the technical constraints of generating units and the frequency stability requirements. In addition to daily generation planning, large-scale battery energy storage is used as an effective tool to improve the initial frequency response in the presence of renewable energy sources. The main objective is to maintain frequency stability during disturbances while aligning the daily generation schedule with the economic dispatch. To achieve the optimal daily schedule, the proposed method is formulated as a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model. To evaluate the performance and efficiency of the proposed model, simulations are conducted on the standard IEEE 118-bus network, using the CPLEX algorithm within the GAMS software environment. Various scenarios are defined and simulated to demonstrate the model's effectiveness.
