A Geometry-based Approach to Reduce the Quantization lobe in 1-bit Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces

چکیده :
Occurrence of a quantization grating lobe in Reconfigurable intelligent surface comprised of 1-bit Reflective unit-cells is inevitable especially at normal incidence of a plane wave upon the aperture. This major lobe causes decrease the power should be delivered to the desired user and would interfere with other receivers over the network, so it seems to be necessary to find an approach to mitigate the level of this unwanted radiation. In this work, a geometrical solution has been proposed to accomplish this suppression that is positioning the reflective particles on a conformal surface and the efficiency of the solution is verified by numerical simulations.
