A Robust Multi-Objective Framework for Distribution Network Expansion Planning Incorporating Distributed Generation Using Particle Swarm Optimization

چکیده :
The rising demand for electrical energy and the increasing integration of renewable resources pose significant challenges for distribution network expansion planning. This study proposes a robust multi-objective optimization framework to address uncertainties in load demand and the output of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) using a scenario-based modeling approach. The model simultaneously aims to minimize investment and operational costs, reduce active power losses, and improve system reliability as measured by the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI). A Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) algorithm, incorporating an adaptive inertia weight adjustment and a dedicated graph repair operator for constraint handling, is employed to solve the resulting non-linear problem. The method is validated on the IEEE 33-bus test system. Comparative analyses show that the proposed MOPSO achieves a more diverse and well-distributed Pareto front than the benchmark NSGA-II algorithm. Numerical results further demonstrate substantial improvements in both economic and technical performance indices under uncertain operating conditions, highlighting the effectiveness of the proposed framework for robust distribution network planning.
