Near-Field Millimeter-Wave Imaging Based on FMCW MIMO-SAR Radar

چکیده :
his paper presents an analysis of frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar systems combined with multiple-input multiple-output synthetic aperture radar (MIMO-SAR) for high-resolution millimeter-wave imaging. By exploiting dense virtual array formation, MIMO-SAR enables enhanced azimuth and elevation resolution compared with conventional radar systems. The fundamental principles of virtual array generation and near-field imaging are discussed. In addition, two widely used image reconstruction techniques—the back-projection algorithm (BPA) and the range migration algorithm (RMA)—are investigated for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional imaging. Their mathematical formulations and corresponding algorithms are derived and analyzed. Finally, simulation results are presented to demonstrate and compare the imaging performance of the two methods.
