Design and Practical Implementation of Internal Model Controller for Temperature Regulation of Thermoelectric Cell

چکیده :
Temperature control of thermoelectric cells is a critical process in various industrial and scientific applications, aimed at maintaining the desired temperature and preventing temperature deviations. This study focuses on the design and practical implementation of an internal model control (IMC) approach to regulate the temperature of a thermoelectric cell. In this respect, a model of the thermoelectric system is provided based on classical identification techniques. Accordingly, an IMC scheme is designed based on the identified model to maintain the desired temperature on the cold side of the cell. In this method, the identified model is integrated into the controller in the feed-forward loop to mitigate the effect of external disturbances. Mathematical analysis is conducted to demonstrate the stability of the closed-loop system. Subsequently, a thermoelectric cell platform is designed and constructed, including the integration of hot and cold-side thermistor sensors. Finally, the proposed control strategy is implemented within the framework of an IMC on this system. The performance of the proposed controller is evaluated under varying reference temperature profiles and different thermal load conditions. Experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed controller in handling external disturbances.
