Design and Analysis of Quadratic Boost Dual-Input DC-DC Converter for Renewable Energy Integration

چکیده :
This paper proposes a novel non-isolated dual-input single-output (DISO) DC-DC converter with a high quadratic voltage gain, designed for hybrid microgrids integrating photovoltaic (PV) panels and fuel cells (FCs). The topology addresses the challenge of interfacing low-voltage renewable sources with a high-voltage DC bus. It achieves a voltage gain of 2/(1-D)^2 without extreme duty cycles or coupled inductors, ensuring continuous input current with low ripple—a critical requirement for source lifespan. The converter can operate with one or both inputs and features a common ground. Component stress calculations, and stability assessment are provided. Simulation results validate the design, showing a 540 V output from two 30 V inputs at a 66% duty cycle, high efficiency and stable performance under source variation.
