Enhancing Tumor Chemotherapy Control with Drug Dosage Constraints: A Backstepping and Super-Twisting Sliding Mode Approach

چکیده :
Cancer remains a critical global health challenge, demanding advanced therapeutic strategies that effectively suppress tumor growth while minimizing treatment-related complications. This study introduces a novel chemotherapy control framework that integrates backstepping and super-twisting sliding mode control techniques to regulate drug infusion with high precision under strict pharmacological safety constraints. The proposed approach is designed to drive tumor cells toward eradication by enforcing a biologically meaningful equilibrium in which resting predator immune cells constitute 40% of their actively proliferating counterparts. Using Lyapunov stability theory, we rigorously establish the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system under the developed controllers. Comprehensive simulation studies confirm the robustness and efficacy of the proposed method, highlighting its strong potential to improve the accuracy, safety, and therapeutic outcomes of chemotherapy-based cancer treatments.
